Not a huge post coming tonight, but it’s been a few weeks since I’ve blogged (something I swore I wouldn’t do). Who would have ever thought that having a newborn would mean there was less time to do things like update the few of you that actually read this blog! We’re almost to the one month mark now, and he’s been so incredible. Being a parent is unlike any feeling I’ve ever felt in my 31 years on life, and I look forward to each new day.
I really just wanted to post something real quick, commenting on what I’m thankful for this year. As Thanksgiving day winds down, and I sit in the comfort of my own home, surrounded by caring, loving family, I can’t help but think that this year was truly different than any that came before it.
I’m most thankful for that family, because 2014 brought an addition to that family that will forever change my life. I’m thankful for MOMPC and all of the amazing work and effort she’s put forth in the first month that our little turd has been on this planet. She’s an amazing woman and I couldn’t think of having any other person with whom to share the responsibilities of parenthood.
MOMPC and I are also very lucky that our son has so many amazing grandparents. We wouldn’t be the people we are today if it wasn’t for them, and it’s our hope that we can be just a fraction of the parents to our son, that they were to us.
I’d love to hear what you’re thankful for this year, as well, so feel free to put that in the comments below. 2014 is almost over, but there are still a lot of days left to share this wonderful addition to our family, and I’m truly looking forward to every bit of joy he’s going to bring.
I’m also thankful for cake.
I love cake.
