Father’s Day, 2014.
It’s the last time I’ll ever (God willing) spend this day without actually being a father. The reason? My wonderful wife, as of Friday June 13th, is 20 weeks pregnant with our very first child. We’ve already hit most of the major pre-birth milestones (announcement, gender reveal, etc.) but, since nearly the day we found out we were “with child”, I’ve been on my wife about allowing me to blog this entire process. (Obviously, she gave me the nod)
Now, don’t get me wrong. I have no desire to provide the embarrassing details, nitty gritty facts, and stuff that folks really don’t need to read about. That being said, we live in a time where it’s completely possible to chronicle things for future generations, including my own future generation, so I would be a fool to not hope to capture a few of these memories where my baby boy (we’re having a boy) can look back, years from now, and see how it all began.
My goal with this blog is twofold:
- Chronicle the latest step in our lives
- Provide said chronicling from the views of, as the title would indicate, a Dad’s point of view
There are countless “Mommy Blogger” sites out there, but research didn’t seem to drum up a whole lot of blogs about raising children from a father’s perspective. It’s my hope that, in doing this blog, I’ll be able to provide insight into how children are raised from the less-fairer sex. Mommy Bloggers seem to have a stranglehold on the parenting blog cartel. I just want to break off my own piece of that pie.
I’ll also be attempting to provide reviews of the products that we opt to use, tips and tricks I learn along the way, and all other aspects of raising a kid. I hope you’ll stick around and enjoy the ride. Frankly, I have no idea what I’m doing, and I would be a liar if I said that didn’t excite me, even just a little bit.

I’m excited to read your blog! Don’t go leaving out TOO much of the nitty-gritty… They can be pretty funny stories.
